The original Marriott hotel at Solana has been built in the early nineties. Recently as consequence of its success, the client has asked Legorreta + Legorreta to provide the facility with an extra 100 rooms, extend the existing ballroom and provide a second meeting room area. The new wing, as originally planned during the first phase will be located next to the pool area on the south side of the building. It will be seven stories high and will house meeting rooms on the first level and a fitness center on the second one. A new exterior area has been proposed in between the pool area and the new wing for outdoor events. The guess rooms will be the same size as the existing ones and the layout of each floor will be similar to what already exists. The guess rooms facing the pool on the second floor will be provided with a small exterior terrace. The façades have been designed taking the same criteria has the existing building into account.
