The original Marriott hotel at Solana was built in the early nineties. As consequence of its success, the client asked LEGORRETA to provide the facility with an extra 100 rooms, expand the existing ballroom and provide a second meeting room area. The new wing, is located next to the pool area on the south side of the building. It is seven storeys high and houses meeting rooms on the first level and a fitness center on the second one. A new exterior area is proposed in between the pool area and the new wing for outdoor events. The guest rooms are the same size as the existing ones and the layout of each floor is similar to what already exists. The guest rooms facing the pool on the second floor are provided with a small exterior terrace. The façades have been designed taking the existing building into account.
