After the 2017 earthquake, the municipality of La Nopalera was one of the most affected in the state of Morelos, with the support of the associations "Obra Social Legaria A.C." and "Grupo de los Dieciséis A.C." They were given the task of raising funds and efforts to restore, consolidate or equip the municipality.
 
The Santa María de Guadalupe church project was donated by the LEGORRETA ^®  office to join efforts towards this reconstruction of the town.
 
The old church suffered damage to its roof and bell tower, so we worked on a project that responded to the needs of the people. The annexation of a neighboring land allowed the program to be housed, which would include a nave, a living area and an office for the parish priest of the church, as well as a catechism room and public bathrooms.
 
The plant and facade proportions obey a golden ratio, the materials are low cost and easy to maintain; Doors donated by the community were reused for access and the use of cross ventilation was implemented using open concrete screens or lattices.
