The houses, La Cruz & Las Terrazas are located in a Mexican resort. The idea of both houses is to set an example for the next builders. These houses have no beach access; however, they have an incredible view of the beach and are set in the middle of the tropical forest and at the peak of the hill. The complex has the best of both worlds, in one end it has the beautiful coast and on the other hand it has an amazing tropical forest. One can really appreciate this environment in the golf course, specially designed to explore the core of the jungle. The hotel and the initial houses are located on the beach, the main attraction to most visitors. Therefore, the task to locate the house in the jungle was a challenge to promote interest in the visitors. La Cruz house is divided in three: the main house which lies on the top of the hill, the pool and its wooden deck and the guest area located on top of two lower peaks. The theme for the house is the cross, a symbol that has been around for years, and not only does it have historic value but allows the project takes advantage of the views, the natural sea breeze and of the site, respecting the vegetation as much as possible. The center of the house is the cross, creating the main entrance hall, an interesting space where you can see the different levels of the house, and ending with a beautiful terrace looking out to the ocean. The wings of the house extend out to the vegetation and an intimate sensation of the cool jungle. Not only was this theme used for the house, it was also a solution to the pool deck and the design of the furniture, doors, towels hangers, etc. Each bedroom has a distinct feeling and character. The main bedroom on the lower level is in heavy contact with the wild vegetation. On the top level, the two bedrooms have a very interesting wooden ceiling due to the solution of the roof. The guest bungalow is independent from the house and it was inspired by a cylinder form. The experience throughout the house is full of diversity and unforgettable spaces such as: the living room which is opened to the terrace and to the dining room, creating a very opened space; the visit to the hammock terrace with wooden pillars to hang the hammocks and its design to have a sand floor; the 360° terrace view where you can appreciate the natural virgin surroundings of the complex El Tamarindo, and the free-floating wooden pool deck which lies within the jungle. Synthesizing the important aspects of this house, you can admire how it integrates with the weather, the site, the natural beauty and its landscape views which permit the guest to really enjoy their luxurious time at one of the most beautiful virgin Mexican beaches.
