Thornburg Offices hosts the headquarters for the Thornburg Financial Group, a New Mexico based financial services firm. The project site is located on the hills of Santa Fe Estates, a development in the periphery of the City of Santa Fe enjoying breath taking views of the Rocky Mountains and the desert. Thornburg Offices is a 141,800 Sqft Corporate Complex with approximately 85,000 Sqft office space deployed in three buildings surrounded by gardens. These buildings are joined together and were designed to be the home for all branches of the Company. The complex is equipped with a 20,112 Sqft parking lot deployed in an array of terraces that occur in the slope of the natural terrain. The main concept for this Project was to provide a design that would blend with the natural landscape, providing enough office space with natural light and producing less impact on the natural grounds. In this order, the building was deployed in different terraces presenting courts and gardens and a maximum height of two stories above ground in each level. Furthermore, terraces and ceilings have been gardened to reduce energy consumption and also to help the building merge with the landscape. A difficult program was created with strict codes, limitations and needs that where successfully fulfilled.
