The appearance of the compound is one of a powerful volume with small and few openings that favor optimum light and climate conditions for the site. The thick outer walls have a dark color finish and are painted in a neutral violet shade and even mimetic, but the openings show the continuation of the bright colors used in the interior, which is organized around two main functions: a bank on the ground floor -to allow easy public access- and a number of offices on the upper floors. In this area the spaces are arranged around small courtyards that not only foster lighting, but also provide a pleasant workspace. An idea of Mexican architecture in which the generous spaces are aligned with warm colors and textures, objects and furniture made of natural materials such as clay, wood and textiles, and refined details of folk craft is proposed. Legorreta + Legorreta is also the author of interior design and furniture, in which an entire cultural tradition is adapted to a large-scale building, achieving a seamless integration of formal and functional solutions.
