As all human activity, architecture has to evolve as a consequence of a way of thinking, a way of living. The Lomas Sporting Club was founded on a clear philosophy based on family life inside an atmosphere of fullness peace and sports. The aim of the project is to contribute to this way of life. It does not impose it; it simply provides the atmosphere for its development. In order to achieve an environment suitable to this form of life, peoples movements were studied carefully; from the main access and parking, up to the path followed by the bicycle track in order for it to join all the activities of the members. The different zones of activities were distributed in a natural way, without discriminating any of them while maintaining the obvious requirements of privacy. Thus, the zone for adults was positioned in such a way that it would not seem attractive for children; the access to the dressing rooms creates a natural flow towards the pools and gardens. The pool itself was designed to create an atmosphere which would generate different activities. The sport courts were isolated by the natural slopes of the ground while individual pavilions for the gully area form interruptions between the activities. This concept of localization and movement is solved by sheltered circulations and open courtyards, stairs and gardens, all of which were inspired in the basic characteristics of Mexican life and architecture; ample spaces full of peace, mystery and color, built with the technical and plastic solutions that correspond to our time, our country, our city and our club. We want to make a special mention. In order to genuinely achieve this form of life based on familiar values and tradition, a strong effort was asked to its developers, to us as architects and particularly to each one of its members. Architecture can only be conceived as the physical expression of the society in which it is created.
